The Power Of Positive Thinking To Promote Healthy Aging

The power of the mind has been lauded in the media by both medical professionals and those who deal with the often mysterious ways of alternative therapies. Isn’t it therefore no wonder that positive thinking could be used to aid the body on its inevitable aging quest? Studies say so, and so do we.

We’ll go one step further however by promoting the principles of the chakra and how energy healing can be used in conjunction with them to facilitate a better and healthier lifestyle.

Basics of Energy Healing

Before we get to some of the basics concerned with energy healing, it is necessary to understand that which is meant by the word ‘chakra’.

The word ‘chakra’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘circle’ or ‘wheel’ and is used to identify energy centres within the body which typically number seven in total, although certain beliefs may contain more. Western knowledge of the chakra predominantly originates from Indian texts, which identifies the chakras as follow:

1. Muladhara – located close to the perineum
2. wadhisthana – situated close to the reproductive organs
3. Manipura – at the navel
4. Anahata – over the heart
5. Vishuddha – in the throat
6. Ajna – on the eyebrow or forehead
7. Sahasrara – at the top of the head or crown

These chakras are aligned in an ascending order from the vicinity of the base of the spine to the top of the head or crown. Each chakra can be associated with a specific colour and is often associated with a specific state of being or purpose within the being itself. It is said that vital energy, called prana, flows between the chakra along pathways called nadis.

Energy Healing & The Chakra

The Chakra, energy healing and positive thinking all have something in common: they provide the parts of the mechanics that drive life onward and forward. In more detail however, they act as the knowledge necessary for us to be able to live life in its fullest capacity and can be used as the tools necessary to correct any irregularities within the being that may occur.

Positive thinking links with certain schools of thought which suggest that we attract what we think about. Although somewhat loose in concept, the aforementioned therefore states that when we consider good health with the correct mind set we will avoid disease or heal faster when it does occur. But the power of positive thinking doesn’t stop there. As we all know stress is one of the major causes of illness in our modern society, as is worry and depression.

If you were wondering how this links to energy healing and the chakra, the following should explain it- As we are all composed of energy in some way, it therefore follows that our thoughts are energy as well as the various chakras. Where negative thoughts might serve to cause blockages in the chakras, good thoughts promote their function, thus enabling the being a better quality of life. Energy healing, on the other hand, is of course the ‘tool’ used to clear blockages or dysfunctional chakras.

There is more to that however, as energy healing takes more than just a couple of hours training. Those who wish to experience energy healing but have no prior experience themselves might best be served by consulting someone in that most profound of healing practices. Finally it needs to be said that the key to a good life lies not in the correction of mistakes or in the use of energy healing to cure disease or discomfort, but by following established methods to ensure the physical body’s own vitality. This includes staying healthy and getting plenty of exercise but also, and perhaps more importantly, positive thinking.
